Jonathan Galina-Mehlman
Research Technician

I am a research technician in the Human Origins Genotyping Laboratory currently assisting in a variety of capacities, on a variety of projects, and always doing so with a smile!  I currently help to facilitate the processing of DNA samples for both the Genographic Project as well as Family Tree DNA.  Primarily I assist the test leader for our basic 12-marker Y-Chromosome test, the uncompromising yet fantastic Barbara Fransway.  I received two bachelor degrees from the University of Arizona; a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and a B.A. in Biochemistry.  My scientific interests change from week to week, but always come back to Biochemistry, Conservation Biology, and Astronomy.  It is my hope to be practicing environmental law in the future.  My hobbies include photography, running, road biking, camping, reading, sitting in Jacuzzis, watching movies, cliches, and I am an avid Absurdist.
