I monitor the daily progress of a 12-marker Y-STR panel called the "Nanoplex" as it moves through its various stages, including plating, PCR, fragment analysis, and pherogram creation, troubleshooting when necessary.  All the data for this test is analyzed by HOGL technicians, and then comes to me for final evaluation, which often includes the methodic resolution of any incomplete or conflicting results, before I release the data to our clients.

I was a musician for many years before coming here.  I worked for ten years playing for dance classes in the University of Arizona Music and Dance department, and I also traveled quite a bit as the front man for a band performing my songs.  My current interests include spending time with my wife and two kids, speaking Spanish with friends, and flying homemade kites.
